Perfect Partners - St Michael's Hotel & Spa and Falmouth Oyster Festival

The organisers of Falmouth Oyster Festival are extremely pleased to announce that St Michael's Hotel & Spa is to be the major sponsor for the festival, which takes place from the 15th to 18th October this year.

''We are very pleased that a highly respected local Falmouth Hotel will be the major sponsor for the festival this year, which will help to add to this great event'' said Peter Mason from Falmouth Festivals Ltd.

This exciting new collaboration, introducing one of the town's top hotels, is a fantastic result for the festival and Falmouth. Organisers will be working together with the St Michael's events team to ensure that this years festival is bigger and better than ever.

St Michael's has been a partner in the festival for a number of years, contributing to its development with their Head chef regularly featuring in the cookery demonstration programme, which forms an integral part of the festival menu.

St Michael's Hotel & Spa will run the Oyster & Seafood Bar in the main festival marquee. The talented team of Chefs from the hotel will be highlighting their culinary creativity and expertise by offering a range of seafood dishes throughout the festival using ingredients sourced from local producers and fishermen.

St Michael's Hotel will also be hosting the reintroduction of the Oyster Ball on Saturday 17th October at the hotel, which will be a night of celebration for all, and has already been enthusiastically received by those who have heard the early news! St Michael’s will also be laying on an Oyster Festival Gourmet night and a jazz brunch on Sunday 18th October. All of these events can be booked as part of an exclusive Oyster Festival Break.

Nigel Carpenter, Proprietor of St Michael's Hotel & Spa, confirmed ''We are very excited to play a more significant role in the development of this important festival, and we shall be working hard to build on the past success and make the Falmouth Oyster Festival one of the top food/ gourmet festivals in the South West. It is the last place on earth where wild oysters are still dredged under sail and it is important that this traditional method of harvesting continues to be appreciated and prospers in the future''.

St Michael’s Hotel & Spa boasts a superb location on the seafront in Falmouth, with stunning sea views, first class cuisine with a fine reputation for its Flying Fish Restaurant and a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel offers a contemporary oasis for guests to relax, unwind and indulge. After a £3.5 million refurbishment by owners, Nigel and Julie Carpenter, the hotel has won many awards and is generally regarded as one of the finest hotels in the South West.
